My child has been attending Genazzano since Prep, I have had strong connections to this school. Genazzano has always been known as a top private girl's school, exceeding in academics, sports, music, etc. So of course I wanted my child to receive the crème de la crème when it came to education. Unfortunately, we -- my daughter and I -- have been betrayed by this school and the only emotions that are associated with this once-prestigious school are ANGER and UTTER DISAPPOINTMENT. Genazzano claims to be school that cares about its students, however, this school only cares about one thing, and one thing only - the image and "prestige" of Genazzano. I have paid tens of thousands of my hard earned money to fund a superficial school. The principal - Karen Jebb, uses these funds to finance a PERSONAL GYM in her office. Furthermore, she pushes forward her absolutely deranged ideals to her subordinates, now they are left acting like puppets of her evil schemes. Genazzano students are absolutely BRILLIANT, they are opinionated, passionate young women, yet their zeal has all gone to waste. I have heard from my own daughter and parents of other students of changes they went to bring forward - the ability for young women to wear PANTS, because apparently this school is encouraging students to be UNCOMFORTABLE in their learning environment yet the school still expects OPTIMAL results from these students. In an interview with the Weekly Review, Karen Jebb claims to “support anything the girls want to do,” Really? You did not want to support the students when a majority of them wanted to wear pants. Furthermore, she claims “I want to make sure our students go confidently into the world, ready to embrace life’s challenges, contribute positively to their community and to pursue the career of their choice.” These poor slaves at Genazzano will not be able to develop themselves into confident women, as you – Genazzano – are denying them the freedom of expression. We live in a capitalist society, where we actually LISTEN to the PEOPLE, but here… Genazzano is only listening through their narrow-minded, conservative pea-sized brains. Jebb refuses to adopt SUSTAINABLE renewable energy sources, she refuses to listen to the students, she refuses to stop being a DICTATOR, who enjoys BULLYING her subordinates, who enjoys DENYING the basic human rights of her students. My own daughter sometimes comes home in a dishevelled state… she truly cannot survive being in this dictatorship. My daughter cannot even receive a somewhat satisfactory education, because the school cannot afford to hire a teacher to teach her a subject. Even when she tries to express her opinions, her opinions are immediately denied because her skirt is 0.5 cm above her knee. I am considering my loyalty to this “school”.

The is school was is desparate need of a new prinicpal...lousy teachers, disappointing school structure, poor emphasis on academic culture... extreme emphasis on uniform/appearance (DETENTIONS ARE AWARDED FOR SPORT SHORTS OUTSIDE THE COLLEGE, no water bottles in assembly).
However, 2016, a new year with a new principal! Hopes of a refreshing new school structure and virtue to our daughters! WRONG. The new principal is consistent with the role of poor management as the last principal. Girls are meant to be uplifted, encouraged through their learning! However, Genazzano places strict rules in their 'playgroud'. FOR EXAMPLE, a school music tour is being planned for the summer where Genazzano have sent a statement regarding the clothing to be worn. This in includes no visible necklines, no bare shoulders, no visible bra straps, no cut-off shorts, no leggings short skirt etc. How RIDICULOUS.
ALSO, science, english and maths departments are incredibly unorganized. Only a few teachers have been standouts. The health department is good however, for a private school it is typical for students to have high standards and the health subjects for VCE are not regarded as a pre-requisite for university or ATAR increasing.
The sport life of the college is not really encouraged as much as proper uniform is!!! The sport activities are available but ignored as not much emphasis is placed on it so teams can barely be formed and at times Genazzano is, at times, out of the GSV competition.
My daughter has told me that on too few occasions, there has been conflict between teacher and student relationships...? Whereby there has been bullying from the teacher towards the student - to the point - where students and parents have organized meetings with higher authorities to mediate the conflict
and separate the student from the teacher.
Overall, for a private school, Genazzano has many poor areas in regard to culture and academic life.
Sport: Neutral to Poor
Uniform: A+ (if how your daughter looks in a uniform is what you want her to succeed in)

I was a genazzano girl from prep-yr10 and even though i am no longer at 'the well-loved school upon the hill', i can honestly say that in primary school, i had a blast. i had soo much fun learning from extremely nice teachers because they always made the subjects you learn so much better. I also made lots of amazing new friends every year i was at the school.
When it comes to high school, just like other secondary schools, there'll be some teachers who you'll hate and some who you'll love. When i started my high school year at this school, me and other yr7s had to go up a stairwell to get to our lockers and yr7 classrooms. If you don't know what a stairwell is, well, it is basically a staircase in a shape of a spiral and genazzano has a few of those in their buildings. Just like other high schools, the teachers and other people who work at the school expect you to FOLLOW THE RULES OF THE SCHOOL. They also expect you to WEAR THE SCHOOL UNIFORM PROPERLY because that's what they're extremely strict about and because like what the teachers said, because the school has a primary school and now an early learning centre, they except you to be BE A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR THE YOUNGER GIRLS at the college.
Do you to get a awesome education and be prepared for the real world once you graduate yr12? Gen can do that. If there's anything i learnt from this school, it would be that i have a voice and i should started using it especially to change the world.
This school has encouraged me and other past and present students to STAND UP FOR WHAT THEY BELIEVE IN.The school has this thing called Student Voice which is where SRC Reps and teachers encourage students to speak up about what they should do in order to make the school better.
If you want to go to TAFE after you leave school then Genazzano can't help you with that. They can HELP YOU PREPARE FOR WHAT'S OUT THERE and for the REAL WORLD but not necessarily for TAFE.
If you want go to a UNIVERSITY after you leave school the Genazzano can help you get there.
